Creating space for people to hear each other — in conflict, in dialogue, in difficult conversations.
I trained in conflict mediation at Connecting to Life and in Non-Violent Communication. I’m drawn to situations where people hold genuinely different views, and I believe the right facilitation can turn a clash into a conversation.
Completed the conflict mediation programme at Connecting to Life. The core insight: conflict is a natural part of human existence. Learning to sit with it, rather than rush past it, is what opens the door to genuine resolution.
NVC training gave me a framework for separating observation from judgment, and for understanding what people actually need beneath what they say. It changed how I listen.
Co-founded a media project producing facilitated dialogue videos between people on opposite sides of polarised debates. Managed a team of 25 people across 11 countries.
The biggest thing I took from my mediation training wasn’t a technique — it was becoming comfortable sitting in conflict without needing to resolve it quickly. Real dialogue takes time, and trying to force resolution too soon usually closes things down rather than opening them up.
I try to create a space where people feel genuinely heard before they’re asked to shift. That shift, when it comes, tends to be real — not just a surface agreement.
I’m also drawn to dialogue across deep disagreement. The Beyond Polarization project showed me that when people feel safe enough to speak honestly, the gap between them is almost always smaller than it appeared.
If you’re looking for mediation support, facilitation for a difficult group conversation, or want to talk about dialogue work, I’d love to connect.
